April 1, 2014 - Big red abalone diving, camping, and RV trips are open in Fort Bragg and Mendocino, where lush redwood forests join the Pacific Ocean on the north coast of California. The first day of Abalone season was April 1, 2014. Fishing regulators tried to make it April fools day this year. The time to start diving for abalone was changed to 8:00 am and the season limit was reduced to 18. Today spring rains became showers and the weather channel weekend report predicts 70 degrees by Sunday, April 6th, 2014. Would you like to know more?
