Today's RV Camping Update, Fort Bragg California.

Full and partial services RV camping lots are open in all seasons, on the North Coast of California at the Hidden Pines Campground in Fort Bragg.

Travelers to Fort Bragg from Oregon, Idaho, Washington, or northern Nevada who are coming this week, are avoiding the heavy rain and snow storms in those states this week.

The forecast high tempreture for Sunday, October 19th, is 63F and low 47F, in Fort Bragg California. Sunset tonight is 6:31 pm and a low tide today is at 5:33 pm with some nice waves before that. The Bluffs in Fort Bragg California is a great place for sundown. This short vide is from there. From Hidden Pines go one mile north to McDonald's, then go west one mile to the bluffs.

The forecasted high on October 16th, in Fort Bragg was 59F with a low of 46F by the National Weather Service. Sunset was 6:35 pm. Already at 10 am on October 16th the temperature was 60F and at 4 pm it was 70F in Fort Bragg, at Hidden Pines on the PCH. Located 1/4 mile from the beach, Hidden Pines receives high and low clouds, blue skies, fog, and ocean mist throughout the day. This weather flows from the Pacific ocean through Hidden Pines and then moves eastward into coastal redwoods and forests. Beautiful to behold, is this October weather pattern in Fort Bragg California.

The forecast high by the National Weather Service was 60F and a 50F low for Fort Bragg California. Hidden Pines in Fort Bragg, had a temperature of 65F at 2:46 PM with a blue sky.

Monday October 13th, 2025 Columbus Day.  It rained in Fort Bragg from 10:30 am to noon. There was an power outage in parts of Fort Bragg this morning from 8: 47 AM till 10 AM and some rain. That weather has moved east and blue sky began arriving at Hidden Pines from the west at 1 pm today. The temperature AT Hidden Pines was 61F at 12:50 today with a SW breeze.

At 11:30 AM Sunday the temperature was 62F at Hidden Pines and at 3:05 PM it was 66F and then 70F at 5:40 PM and clear with a NW breeze. Some clouds passed through from the north at 3pm then blue sky again at 5PM, see photos below.

At 11:21 AM yesterday the temperature at Hidden Pines on the coast, was 63F, then at 4:47 PM it was 75F. Weather service forecasting has been substantially cooler than actual weather temperatures this month. Tomorrow October 13th, 2025 rain is in their forecast. IS OCTOBER WEATHER AT HIDDEN PINES GOOD? YOU MAY ASK. This is a frequent question, so a three day October show and tell is on this blog is for you to see.

Friday it reached 67F and mostly blue sky after early rain showers ended at 3:00 pm on Friday. The sunset on October 10th, 2025 in Fort Bragg California at the Bluffs, two miles north of Hidden Pines is in this photo.

Those showers moved south and east.

Hidden Pines has full services RV camping lots for all seasons. 

The early season  is helping the fall wild forest mushroom season to get a good start.  A low tide at 8:44 pm and sunset is 6:42 pm today. Mendocino Botanical Garden trails, are a place to study wild forest mushrooms. A sunset visit to Glass Beach tide pools, and a short hike to Hare creek beach... maybe? Mendocino Botanical Gardens are; one third mile south from Hidden Pines, the Glass Beach is two miles north, and Hare Creek Beach is a quarter mile west.

Fog rolling in from the beach early morning and late afternoons, gone before noon and before sunset occurred twice this week. The route to Fort Bragg for a big RV, more than 36 feet from CA-101 is to  go to Willits, travel 33 miles west on Hwy-20 to Fort Bragg, go south on HWY- 1 one quarter mile to Hidden Pines. The mountain summit on HWY-20 is 1,300 vertical feet and then it goes down through redwoods to the sea. Use the turn outs and a beautiful rest stop at the Jackson Demonstration Forest in the middle of the redwoods on Hwy-20. Cell phone service from Willits to Fort Bragg is poor. Radio 95.3 FM in Fort Bragg is a source for information about roads and events on the North Coast. Cell phone service and Wifi are at Hidden Pines.

The forecasted weather for October 1st, 2025 by the National Weather Service was a high of 70F and low 54F. Sunset was 6:58 pm, there was a low tide at 11:44 am today. Mostly sun with an SW breeze.

Site M1 in the photo below can be used for a 31 day extended stay. M-1 includes a 28 ft. RV trailer, shown in the photos below. The trailer has one pop- out, a full size RV bed, and a futon.
