I enjoyed tasting my first wild mushrooms for the new 2011 - 2012 mushroom season this past weekend.. Cooking with Chanterelle mushrooms is easy as it has a pleasant flower like appearance and taste. Although this mushroom is found in most areas from June through September, the season in Mendocino County is later and linked to the fall winter rainy season. This year early October rains have already arrived,.and now we feast. We have had many fun guests join us this year at our Hidden Pines cook outs, from many states and countries too. The wild mushrooms this fall are added to abalone, crab, steak, tuna and salmon.
